Daqiq (دقیق) Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Daqiq (دقیق) mobile app ("Daqiq", "the app") handles your information on iPhone and Android. Daqiq is published by Sajid, Akram and Hammad (the Daqiq team) ("we", "us").
The short version
- We do not collect any personal data. Daqiq has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, no crash-reporting tools, no in-app purchases, and no servers of its own. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us.
- Your location stays on your phone. If you allow it, the app uses your location only on your device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction.
- Everything the app saves stays on your phone. This includes your settings, saved items and reading positions. Deleting the app deletes this data.

All lessons, duas, the full Quran text and the Urdu translation are bundled inside the app and work offline. The app does not download content from us.
2. Permissions and why we ask for them
You can use the app's lessons, duas and Quran reader without granting any permission.
- Location ("While Using the App" only). Used on your device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. Daqiq never asks for background ("Always") location. You can turn this permission off at any time in your phone's Settings. Prayer times that depend on your location will then not update automatically.
- Notifications. Used to show adhan / prayer-time alerts that you turn on. These are local notifications: your phone schedules them itself. We do not operate a push-notification server.
- Alarms & reminders (Android: "exact alarms"). Lets Android deliver each prayer alert at the exact time. You grant this in system settings, and you can turn it off at any time. Without it, alerts may arrive a few minutes late.
- Run at startup (Android:
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED). Lets the app re-schedule your prayer alerts after your phone restarts. No data is collected. - Vibration and wake lock (Android). Let a prayer alert vibrate and appear on time.
3. Services provided by Apple and Google (your phone's operating system)
Daqiq uses some features built into your phone's operating system:
- Finding your city name (reverse geocoding). To show a city name, the app passes your coordinates to the phone's built-in geocoding service: Apple's geocoder (CLGeocoder) on iPhone, or Android's Geocoder on Android. To answer, the operating system may contact Apple or Google services. That processing is covered by Apple's or Google's own privacy policies, not by this one. We do not receive this information.
- Location services, notifications, the compass, and the time zone are provided by your phone's operating system.
- Device backups. If you have turned on iCloud Backup, device backup, or Android backup, your operating system may include the app's locally stored settings in your backup, including your saved location and city name. That backup is managed by Apple or Google under your account's backup settings. We cannot access it.
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software development kits (SDKs). We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with anyone, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
4. Sharing and external links
- Sharing an image. When you tap Share, the app creates the image on your device and opens your phone's standard share sheet. The image goes only where you choose to send it, such as a messaging app. That app's own privacy policy then applies.
- Email. The "Contact & a request" page lets you write to us at akram@inparlor.com using your own email app. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply to you. We keep emails only as long as we need them to handle your message, and no longer than 12 months. Your email is carried by your own email provider and ours, under their privacy policies.
5. Children
Daqiq is suitable for all ages. The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). The app has no ads, no chat, no user accounts and no way to publish content to other users. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through our contact page, please contact us and we will delete it.
6. Data retention and deletion
- Everything Daqiq saves is kept only on your device until you delete it.
- To delete all app data:
- iPhone: delete the Daqiq app. This removes its settings, saved items and location data from the device.
- Android: go to Settings → Apps → Daqiq → Storage → Clear storage / Clear data, or uninstall the app.
- To stop location use: turn off Location for Daqiq in your phone's Settings. The last saved location stays on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
- To stop alerts: turn off adhan alerts in the app, or turn off notifications for Daqiq in your phone's Settings.
- Copies kept in your own device or cloud backups are controlled by you through your Apple or Google account settings.
- We keep no copy of your data on our side, so there is nothing for us to delete apart from any email you send us (see section 4).
7. Security
Your data never leaves your device through Daqiq, so it is protected by your phone's own security: your screen lock, device encryption, and the operating system's app sandbox. Please keep your phone's software up to date.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to its use. Daqiq keeps your data only on your device, so you can view, change or delete it yourself at any time, as described above. For questions about any message you sent through our contact page, please contact us (section 10).
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes (for example, because a new feature needs different permissions), we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, such as any new collection of data, we will also mention it in the app or in the app-store release notes before it takes effect.
