Daqiq (دقیق) Terms of Use
Effective date: 28 September 2026 Last updated: 28 September 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your use of the Daqiq (دقیق) mobile app ("Daqiq", "the app"). The app is published by Sajid, Akram and Hammad (the Daqiq team) ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The app
Daqiq is a free app. It contains lessons drawn from the Quran, Quranic duas, the full Quran text with an Urdu translation, prayer times, adhan alerts and a Qibla direction finder. It has no accounts, no advertising and no in-app purchases. All content is included in the app and works offline.
2. Licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Daqiq on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. This licence is subject to these Terms and to the terms of the store you downloaded the app from:
- Apple: Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (standard EULA) applies.
- Google: the Google Play Terms of Service apply.
If these Terms conflict with the store terms, the store terms take priority to the extent required. For Apple devices only, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.
3. About the religious content: please read
- Lessons are educational reflections. The lessons in Daqiq are teachings drawn from selected verses of the Quran. They are not a literal translation of the Quran and not a tafsir (formal commentary).
- Not a fatwa. Nothing in the app is a fatwa or a religious ruling, or a replacement for advice from a qualified scholar. For questions of Islamic law or personal religious matters, please consult a qualified scholar ('alim / mufti).
- Quran text and translation. The Arabic Quran text comes from recognised sources and is reproduced verbatim (see section 6). The Urdu translation is by Maulana Fateh Muhammad Jalandhari. We take great care over accuracy. If you find a mistake, please tell us through our contact page so we can correct it.
4. Prayer times, Qibla and alerts are estimates
- Prayer times are calculated estimates. They are based on your location, your chosen calculation method and settings, and standard astronomical formulas. They can differ from the times announced by your local mosque or authority.
- The Qibla direction depends on your phone's compass. The compass can be affected by magnets, metal objects, phone cases and calibration.
- Alerts depend on your phone's settings: notification permission, exact-alarm permission, battery-saving modes, Do Not Disturb, and restarts. We cannot guarantee that an alert will always arrive on time.
- Please confirm prayer times with your local mosque, and do not rely on the app as your only source for the start or end of prayer times, fasting (sehri / iftar), or other acts of worship.
5. Respectful and lawful use
When you use Daqiq, and especially when you share images made from it, please treat the Quran and religious content with respect. You agree not to:
- change Quran text or translations, or present them in a misleading way, or share them in a way that is disrespectful or mocking;
- use the app or its content for any unlawful purpose;
- copy, sell, or redistribute the app's content, or the app itself, as your own product, except as the licences in section 6 allow;
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law allows it.
Sharing an image of a lesson or dua with family and friends for personal, non-commercial purposes is welcome.
6. Third-party content and licences
Daqiq includes content and fonts from third parties. They belong to their owners and are used under their licences:
- Tanzil Quran Text (Uthmani, version 1.1). Copyright (C) 2007–2026 Tanzil Project. Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0. Used verbatim, without changes. Source and updates: https://tanzil.net
- QPC Hafs Quran text and the KFGQPC HAFS Uthmanic Script font. © King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex (KFGQPC), Madinah. Used and distributed unmodified under the KFGQPC licence. Quran fonts provided by Quran Foundation.
- Urdu translation of the Quran by Maulana Fateh Muhammad Jalandhari. The translator died in 1960, so under Pakistan's copyright term (life of the author plus 50 years) the translation is in the public domain. The digital text was obtained through the Quran.com (Quran Foundation) API.
- Hadith duas: the Arabic text of Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim comes from the open fawazahmed0/hadith-api dataset (public domain, Unlicense). The Urdu and English meanings, titles and notes are written by the Daqiq team.
- Amiri Quran, Noto Nastaliq Urdu and Inter fonts, licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
The app's own lessons, design, name and logo are © 2026 Sajid, Akram and Hammad (the Daqiq team). The in-app "Sources & licences" section lists these credits.
7. External links and services
The app can open your email app so you can write to us, and it uses services built into your phone (such as Apple's or Google's geocoder and the system share sheet). We are not responsible for third-party websites, apps or services, which have their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information. In short, the app collects no personal data and keeps everything on your device.
9. No warranty
The app and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. These include warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted or error-free operation, to the fullest extent the law allows. We may change, suspend or stop the app, or any feature, at any time.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss. This includes a missed or mistimed prayer or fast, a wrong Qibla direction, or loss of data saved on your device, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. The app is free, so our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it (zero), or the lowest amount the law allows, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version at this address and update the "Last updated" date. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The courts of Lahore have jurisdiction, unless the consumer-protection law of your country requires otherwise.
